Procedure Steps
The procedure is performed as an outpatient treatment, you will return home after surgery.
Once the fat is collected, it is then processed and only the most viable and purest fat is injected into the buttock. Dr. Quintero will make a series of injections into the buttock, using the fat to enhance the shape. His meticulous approach guarantees a smooth contour in both the donor area(s) and the newly sculpted buttock.
Safety Preparation & Risk
In order to perform a butt lift, a patient must be up to date on their physical exam.
We also ask that patients stop certain medications and all nicotine products. Dr. Quintero would like for patients to follow these recommendations for a better healing and recovery process.
Possible risks of a butt lift include the following:
- Blood clots/pulmonary emboli/fat embolism
- Infection
- Sensation changes
- Poor wound healing/scarring
- Contour irregularities
Recovery
After surgery, a compression garment is worn to help with the swelling and assist in contouring the buttocks. Lymphatic massages are recommended for a faster recovery. The patient is advised to not lay down or sit directly on the buttocks for four weeks. BBL pillows or regular pillows are recommended to elevate the buttocks to prevent any pressure on the fat which will improve your results. BBL patients are advised to avoid exercising for at least four to six weeks. Final results usually can be seen within three to six months, after swelling and bruising have subsided.
